Barclay Grayson is an experienced Portland entrepreneur who serves as senior vice president of development and acquisitions with the BPM Real Estate Group. An ongoing focus for Barclay Grayson is the Block 216 high-rise development in downtown Portland. Anchored by a Ritz-Carlton, the 35-story tower has a budget of $600 million and is expected to reach completion in early 2023.
A March 2022 Portland Business Journal article featured photos from the project, giving an inside look at elements that are beginning to take shape. The luxurious exterior now has much of its glass in place and the interior is being fitted with piping and other later-stage elements of construction. In addition, the photos show a "topping-off" ceremony at which BPM CEO Water Bowen addressed workers. This traditional event celebrated the placement of the final beam atop a structure. Bowen noted that, despite supply chain challenges outside his firm’s control, his team capably “persevered in the work.” They are nearing completion of a tower that is set to become an iconic element of the city’s skyline.
